Manchester United Football Club

Manchester United Football Club was founded in 1878 as Newton Heath L&YR Football Club, and is one of the most successful and popular English football clubs, boasting a reported 330 million fans and the highest revenue of any soccer club in the world. Playing at the top division of English football – the Barclays Premier League, Manchester United has won the Premier League title nine times since 1993 and is the current 2008 reigning champion. The club plays in the Old Trafford Stadium in Greater Manchester, England and is currently captained by fullback Gary Neville. Manchester Utd has many international star players as well as players that have been with the club their entire career. Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes are lifetime ManU players, and Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney are two of the top goal scorers in the Premiership.

Outstanding Manchester United Results

Manchester United has been managed by veteran Sir Alex Ferguson since 1986, and was returned to private holding by Malcom Glazer in 2005. In 1999 Man Utd won the Premiership, the FA Cup and Manchester United FC were also winners of the 1999 European Cup, the 1999 Intercontinental Club Cup, the 1991 European Cup-Winners Cup, the 1992 and 2006 League Cup and are 11-time winners of the FA Cup. Most recently, they place top of the Premier League in 2008, and beat Chelsea to win the 2007-2008 Champions League in the competition's first all-English final.
